JLATT Fitness Profile

Hi, I’m James and I love running! Running has always been a part of my life but it only became a serious pursuit as I entered adulthood. Before running took centre stage, I was deeply committed to Rugby, but before I could take it to a professional level, I suffered severe hip issues that required major surgery, which meant I could no longer pursue my childhood dream.

Determined to find something that would fuel my passion for fitness again, I rediscovered my love for running and took it to a new level. Navigating the devastating blow to my sporting career at such a young age, running helped my mental health and gave me a new sense of purpose and ambition.

Retraining to run regularly whilst considering my previous injuries was difficult and daunting at first, but I soon found a way to break through my limitations and before I knew it, I was representing my university at the British University National Championships in both the 800m and 1500m events. One of my proudest sporting moments to date.

After graduating university and moving to London, I continued to research and learn the mechanics of running, important training principles, goal setting and the physiology that underpins performance – all of which I apply to my own running regime that I now document on Instagram.

Content creation was never part of the plan but it combines two things I really enjoy – running and videography. I love documenting my journey and feel very proud to have created an Instagram community with over 100k fellow runners determined to overcome their own limitations to improve their physical and mental health and complete a 5k run with ease.

Running has transformed my life and I hope that regardless of your running ability, I can help you to fulfil your goals, ignite a true passion and enjoy the gift that running keeps on giving.
